“Yellow Ledbetter”

The Vampire Diaries Season 6, Episode 2 Spoiler Roundup — “Yellow Ledbetter”

Strap yourselves in for the second Vampire Diaries episode of Season 6! Will it answer the many questions we have from the season premiere? Will we find out where Bamon has spent their summer vacation? Will Eddie Vedder make an appearance? Here’s everything we know about Season 6, Episode 2 (“Yellow Ledbetter”) so far.
Bamon is stuck in 1994Or something. From the looks of the promo, they are reliving May 10, 1994 over and over again. According to the synopsis, “Damon and Bonnie [will] reluctantly band together to uncover the mystery of where they are and how they are going to get back home.” And, per Entertainment Weeklywe will know where Bamon is by the end of this episode.
It’s named after a Pearl Jam songAs you may already know (or have guessed from our Eddie Vedder reference), this episode shares its name with the title of a Pearl Jam song. Released in 1992, we think this may be a reference to the fact that Bamon seems to be stuck in the early 90s. Fingers crossed “Yellow Ledbetter” will be on the episode’s soundtrack.

Elena is forgetting DamonElena seems to be totally embracing her hair-brained scheme of having Alaric compel her love of Damon away. According to the synopsis, “Elena turns to Alaric to help her move on with her life.” In the promo, we see Alaric telling Elena she has to find “that signature” moment when she fell in love with Damon. Elena claims she doesn’t know what that was, but Caroline can help: it was when Elena was still with Stefan.
Caroline and Enzo are teaming upGuess who’s going on another road trip? Team Carenzo! “Enzo convinces Caroline to join him as he tracks down a lead to get Damon and Bonnie back,” according to the synopsis. Buckle up for plenty of road trip banter!
Stefan is discovered.  Not everything on the road trip goes according to plan as “Caroline is shocked when they make an unexpected detour and uncover what Stefan has been up to.” Caroline looks seriously pissed in this promo shot. Stick a fork (or knife?) in Stefan, he’s done.
Jeremy continues to self-destruct. And by “self-destruct,” we mean “spending time” with new girl in town Sarah. This wouldn’t be so bad if his sister didn’t nearly kill Sarah last episode. That is going to make for oneawkward meet-the-family dinner, even if Sarah was compelled by Caroline to forget Elena’s fangs. But will Jeremy’s new friendship even get to that point? According to the synopsis, Matt is worried about Jeremy. Maybe he’ll stage a friend-ervention?
Tripp is backWe’ll be spending more time with Tripp, the leader of the community militia, in this week’s episode. According to the synopsis, he “makes an interesting confession to Matt about his connection to the town.” Is he Matt’s father?! If so, he better deliver the revelation in a Darth Vader voice.
The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
