Why No Stelena??

The Vampire Diaries Season 6 — Why Stefan and Elena Can't Happen

If you’ve seen the promo for Thursday’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, then you know it’s heavy on the Stelena. At one point, Stefan even proposes toElena  — yes, as inmarriage.
We loved us some Epic Stelena in the early TVD seasons and we’re not completely against the idea of them getting back together in some indeterminate point in the future (maybe Season 14?), but right now, we’re just not feeling it.
Here is why Stefan and Elena can’thappen.
We need a break from the love triangle. So far, Season 6 has delivered on its promise to bring something fresh to the table, and we need that trend to continue. Seeing a rehash of the Stelena relationship would just be another swing of the same love triangle pendulum. And we are so over that pendulum. Smash the pendulum.
Elena needs to not be with a Salvatore for awhileWhat TVD is doing this season is kind of ingenious. It’s continuing the Delena love story, while still giving us a chance to get to know Elena outside of her relationships to the Salvatore brothers. She isn’t in love with either of them, but only because she loved Damon so much that she had to forget him rather than live without him. Best of both worlds!
Stelena is in friend mode. One thing that TVD does well is laying down the foundation for romantic relationships. Delena took seasons to develop. Steroline, which seems inevitable at this point, has been taking a romantic turn since last season, and is taking it’s time. We’re not completely against Stelena taking another stab at romance (in an interesting way), but TVD would have to make it believable. Right now, it would be out of nowhere.
TVD is committed to the Delena love story. It’s not only that exploring Stelena would be a poor storytelling choice right now, we legitimately don’t think TVD will do it. Executive producer Caroline Dries told HitFix: "I can tease that we definitely keep the love stories alive.” TVD is still telling the love story of Delena. That might change in the future, but for now, we are still in the Delena Era.
Stefan wouldn’t do that to DamonElena may not remember that she loves Damon, but Stefan certainly does and, if we know anything about Stefan, it’s that he wallows in guilt and trades in self-deprecation. Even if Elena were interested in a relationship with Stefan, we doubt Stefan would go along with it. Especially when he’s so eager to get out of town.
Delena’s reunion may be right around the corner. We don’t think we’ll have to wait much longer for Damon and Elena’s reunion. Director Joshua Butler was dropping some serious hints that it would take place in Season 6, Episode 8. Sure, with Elena’s little memory problem, everything might not go according to plan, but that doesn’t give much time for a Stelena romance to develop, either.
Catch this episode of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, October 23 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

Elena and Stefan Start Over

'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Spoilers: Elena and Stefan Start Over

Now that Alaric has successfully managed to tweak Elena's (Nina Dobrev) perception of Damon (Ian Somerhalder), there seems to be an opportunity for former lovers, Elena and Stefan (Paul Wesley), to reunite.Photos from episode four of season six, titled "Black Hole Sun," show Elena and Stefan hitting the bar together, sparking speculations that they might embark on a romantic relationship as the season progresses.

However, the talk is that their relationship could be purely platonic. "Stefan attempts to show Elena what it's like to start over and create a new identity," the episode description reads, adding that Stefan too is "desperate to regain some normalcy in his life."
Interestingly, Elena's love life is not going to be dormant now that she has finally managed to convert the Damon "was my boyfriend, I loved him and he died" chant to "He was Stefan's brother. He was a monster. Then he died."
Spoilers have it that Elena will lock lips with an interesting guy in the third episode of the season, titled "Welcome to Paradise." Never give up hope [on Stelena]," TVLine's Michael Ausiello wrote. "Elena's emotions are all over the place in Season 6 and I have it on good authority that her love life is going to be far from dormant. In fact, I hear she'll be locking lips with a handsome fella in Episode three — and his name does not rhyme with Shmamon."
The third episode will have Elena and gang hitting the swimming hole to infuse some fun into their lives. However, drama isn't far behind, as Stefan arrives in Mystic Falls to hunt down Enzo for killing his girlfriend. As per the synopsis, Jeremy will make a surprising discovery about the anti-magic spell that could put Elena's life in danger.
Elsewhere, Damon and Bonnie already found out that they weren't alone in the past, and in the upcoming episode, they will come across more clues to confirm their doubts.
In the coming episodes, Damon and Bonnie will realise that going back to a time in Damon's past might provide clues to finding their way back home, and this might force the eldest Salvatore brother to relive one of the worst days of his life. Their current entrapment might have something to do with Damon's actions on 10 May 1994.
Meanwhile, speculations are also rife that Sarah might be the key to bring back Damon and Bonnie. A certain section of fans believe that Sarah could be Bonnie's half-sister who is in town to see her father, and in all likelihood, she too could be a witch.

Inside Stefan and Elena's Cozy Dream Life

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers 5x18

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Elena Gilbert  in the arms of Stefan Salvatore . Recently, The Vampire Diaries triangle has been heavily tipped in the Delena direction. But that’s about to change in Thursday’s episode — at least superficially — as Stefan and Elena start experiencing shared visions of their could-be life together. Just Jared Jr. has a sneak peek at what that charmed life will look like. Check it out!
Season 5, Episode 18 (“Resident Evil”) will bring viewers inside of the intensely intimate visions Stelena shares in the wake of Markos return from the Other Side. As you can see in these promo photos, the two are totally in love. In the first, Stefan makes dinner in the Gilbert kitchen as Elena looks lovingly on. The second has them locked in a loving embrace. And the third shows pouring coffee for a tie-wearing Stefan, presumably as the two get ready for the busy day ahead. Basically, Vision Stelena make a great team — and they spend a lot of time in the kitchen. It’s pretty adorable.
How will this affect Delena? Well, things are already hella awkward between these two post-breakup, as evidenced by this sneak peek for Thursday’s episode. In it, we see Caroline and Elena show up at the Salvatore mansion presumably to talk supernatural shenanigans, only for Elena and Damon to immediately start emoting relationship vibes. Needless to say, Caroline and Enzo quickly make themselves scarce. If this is what Delena looks like before Stelena starts have shared amazing dreams together, we can only imagine how awkward this relationship and episode is going to get...

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers

Will Stefan's Feelings For Elena Return?

Katherine (Nina Dobrev) has been playing some serious games with the Salvatore brothers’ hearts on The Vampire Diaries. Pretending to be Elena, she’s convinced a crazy-in-love Damon(Ian Somerhalder) that her doppelganger doesn’t want to be with him and ready-to-move-on Stefan (Paul Wesley) that she does. Will the latter ruse result in Stefan’s feelings for Elena resurfacing? Executive producer Caroline Dries talked to TV Guideabout the possibility!
"Stefan tugs along Elena not realizing it's Katherine ... and you have this chemistry starting to re-sizzle in the relationship,” Caroline teased abouttonight’s episode of TVD, which sees Stefan and Katherine hitting the road to save Damon from his new vampire cannibal ways.
But it doesn’t sound like it will be much longer before Stefan and Co. figure out that Katherine has possessed Elena’s body, and the manipulated becomes the manipulator: "Once they figure this out, they know they're going against the master manipulator," Caroline said. "To play a chess game with Katherine Pierce is a very delicate game and you have to really strategize and catch her off guard. So what happens next is that it becomes Katherine vs. our guys and it's that strategy game, and if they mess up, Elena is pretty much gone for good. " So, no pressure.
However Project Save Elena resolves itself (we’re guessing it will be in Elena’s favor), there’s still the question of Stefan’s possibly re-burgeoning feelings. Regardless of the fact that it was Katherine-as-Elena, did spending time with the doppelganger stir up not-so-old feelings?
"Katherine is doing the meanest thing she can do to a person which is just when they get over someone and are in the first stages of healing she tears that wound open again," Caroline said. "She's forcing Stefan to question, 'Was I an idiot for saying goodbye to Elena and walking away?' So we get into his head a little bit with the turmoil she's putting him through. But if I were Stefan and I found out ultimately that it wasn't Elena, there might be some sense of relief in that he doesn't have to go down that road again."
To us, that sounds like the show will not be exploring Stelena again anytime soon, which is an interesting and somewhat refreshing choice. We’re not saying we never want to see Stelena again, but it really doesn’t make sense right now. When Elena was banished from her body, she was still totally in love with Damon. Though that may be complicated now with Damon’s recent actions, that doesn’t mean she has fallen back in love with Stefan. It has also been interesting to see Stefan’s reactions to Katherine-as-Elena’s advances these past few episodes. He could have easily gotten back together with her, but has chosen not to. Yes, some of that is probably because he wants to focus on getting his brother back from the edge, but he seems to have genuinely moved on — at least for now.

Katherine Gets Handsy With Stefan

‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: Katherine Gets Handsy With Stefan In New Video Clip Of Episode 14, ‘No Exit’

“Vampire Diaries” fans rejoice! The CW series is finally returning on Thursday, Feb. 27, after being on hiatus for the past couple of weeks, and episode 14 promises to be jam-packed with a lot of Mystic Falls drama.
In episode 13, Katherine had managed to successfully convince everyone that she’s actually Elena -- although Caroline definitely seems to be suspicious of some of her actions. That episode found the evil doppelganger using her new body to begin “Operation: Seduce Stefan.” But Damon’s bit of trouble might derail her whole plans. Fans will remember that Dr. Wes reemerged after being in hiding, and the Dr. Frankenstein-esque character has some new benefactors: the Travelers. Unfortunately Damon’s need for revenge lead him right into Dr. Wes’ lair … where he was injected with the virus that would force him to feed off of vampires. So, where does that leave fans in episode 14, “No Exit”? Thanks to a sneak peek video from TV Line, viewers can see that despite all her efforts, Katherine is struggling to be Elena. The video clip shows Stefan quizzing Elena/Katherine for a history test at the Salvatore mansion. And Elena/Katherine uses that time to get a little handsy with her former beau! Wrapping her arms around his shoulders and leaning in, Elena/Katherine argues over one of the answers that Stefan said was wrong. Stefan’s shocked at Elena’s knowledge of the Holy Roman Empire, and Katherine quickly realizes that she made a mistake. Blowing off her knowledge as a paper she wrote in high school, the pair are interrupted when the doorbell rings.
“Caroline’s here,” Stefan tells Elena/ Katherine as gets up to grab the door. “I asked the sheriff to help me track down Damon.”
Needless to say that Katherine is unhappy for two reasons: Caroline’s constant hover around Stefan, and Stefan’s desire to find Damon. But Katherine doesn’t give up so easily, and fans will see that she’ll be jumping at the chance to join Stefan on a road trip to find Damon.
As we previously reported, episode 14 will find the pair searching for Damon, not knowing that he’s been injected with Dr. Wes’ vampire serum. And to make matters worse, Dr. Wes and the Travelers still have some tricks up their sleeves -- one that will “test Damon’s friendship with Enzo.”
Meanwhile, back in Mystic Falls, Matt will turn to Caroline and Tyler to ask for help in protecting Elena. But is Matt talking clearly? Or did Nadia compel him? Whatever the case may be, the synopsis teases that a talk between Caroline and Stefan will “lead to a horrifying realization” … perhaps the truth behind Katherine/Elena?

8 Best Stelena Moments

First kiss whilst comet-watching

First season Stelena was oh-so-sweet. There are so many

adorable early romance moments to choose from, but one of

The twospend the entire day making eyes at each other

beforemeeting up for some romantic comet-watching that

ends with their first kiss. Adorable!

Stelena sleeps together

Season 1 Stelena is full of a lot of firsts, and the first time

this couple sleep is one of their most epic scenes. You see,

Stefan is planning on leaving Mystic Falls... until Elena tells

him she loves him. He tries to turn away when his face goes

into vamp mode, but she doesn’t let him, telling him, “don’t

hide from me.” Their sex scene manages to be both sweet

and sexy at the same time, and keeps Stefan in Mystic Falls.

Elena convinces Stefan to “keep fighting”

It’s tough to see Stefan or Elena miserable, but it often

makes for the best scene-age. In Season 1, Episode 20,

Stefan is struggling with the sins of his past. He decides he

cannot go on in such misery, and chooses to remove his

daylight ring and wait for the sun to rise. A desperate Elena

finds him, and convinces him to “keep fighting,” though

ultimately leaving him to make his own choice. He choose

life, and her. Of course!

Stefan and Elena spend the day together

Convinced that it may be their last chance to spend time

together with Elena as human, Stefan and Elena decide to

spend a romantic day in the wilderness in Season 2, Episode

20: “The Last Day.” This whole episode is chock-full of

wonderful Stelena moments, but the one in which Stefan

tells Elena that “If it were my choice, I’d wanna be with you

forever” and Elena admits that she really doesn’t want to be

a vampire, is both heartbreaking and wonderful.

Emotionless Stefan calls Elena on

her birthday

Gah! Season 3 was a torturous time for Stelena shippers.

Though Stefan has turned off his emotions and is playing

Klaus’ wingman, he totally still somehow manages to love

Elena. He calls her on her birthday, but can’t bring himself

to say anything. She knows it’s him, though, and reassures

him as he silently cries on the other end: “Stefan, if this is

you, you’ll be okay. I love you, Stefan. Hold onto that. Never

let that go.” Never has a one-sided conversation so choked

us up.

Stefan catches Elena

Stefan “The Ripper” Salvatore may claim not to care about

Elena past Klaus’ orders to protect her doppelganger blood,

but when a tipsy Elena climbs over the high school

bleachers’ fence and falls off, he catches her with a bit more

concern than someone just doing his job. “I knew you’d

catch me,” she tells him and it totally looks like they’re

going to kiss - then, Alaric shoots him with some vervain

darts. It’s always something!

Stefan comforts Elena after Alaric dies

When Alaric dies, Elena refuses to acknowledge the event.

She sets about cleaning all of the stakes out of his classroom,

but Stefan stops her. He leads her into the high school

auditorium, empty, but still dressed up for the 1920s dance.

He gives her the same advice that she has been giving him

all season, “Our emotions are what makes us human,” and

reminds her it’s okay to feel. She laments the loss of yet

another person in her life, telling Stefan, “I don’t have an

yone anymore.” Stefan’s predictable yet-no-less moving

response: “You have me.” Elena breaks down, and Stefan

Stefan and Elena go to prom

There have been so many excellent Stelena dance scenes over
five seasons of their on-again-off-again love story, and

though the one in which Stelena dances at prom may not be

the happiest or even the best, it also works as a tribute to all

of the Stelena dance moments that have come before. Trying

to feel Elena back into her humanity, Stefan dances with

Elena at her prom. He reminds her what it has always been

like when they danced together - how he would put his hand

on her hip, intertwine their finger, and slowly dip her.

Though the scene ends with Elena walking away, we refuse

to believe she was unmoved. We certainly were,

remembering all of the Stelena romance that had come

before.
