Vampire Diaries Promo: Season 6, Episode 6 — "The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get"

Damon’s back, baby! And you better believe we’re dying to find out what happens next on The Vampire Diaries. Will Elena choose to remember her memories of loving Damon? How will everyone else react? And is there still hope for Bonnie?! The promo for Season 6, Episode 6 (“The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get”) doesn’t really answer these questions. But it does give us some other sneak peeks into next week’s episode.

Things are getting (more) complicated in next week’s TVD. Damon is back, but Elena can’t remember him. “He’s back?!” she exclaims, more surprised than relieved in the opening moments of the promo.Alaric has some explaining to do.

And how is Damon doing? Well, when Alaric is asking the question, this is his answer: “My best friend compelled my beautiful and lovely girlfriend to forget that she ever loved me. I’m great, Ric.”

But Damon’s love life isn’t the only thing he has to worry about. It looks like he’s getting nabbed by Tripp. (Perhaps, purposefully to find Enzo?) Damon wakes up in the vampire hunter’s torture cabin with prison buddy Enzo. Anyone feeling nostalgic for the 1950s?

Let’s just hope they get out of there before Tripp realizes that former Augustine vampires are super resistant to torture because the “community militia leader” threatens to drive Enzo over the Mystic Falls line and into certain, fiery death if he doesn’t start cooperating and giving up the names of his vampire brethren. At the end of the promo we see Tripp’s van racing towards Mystic Falls, presumably with Damon and Enzo in it. No, please.
