Vampire Diaries Spoilers: What Leaves Caroline "Gasping For Air"?

Caroline Forbes  has not been having a very good Vampire Diaries season so far. You know, emotionally. Not only is she unable to return home to Mystic Falls, but one best friend partially erased her memory, one best friend is (still) dead, and the best friend she may or may not be in love with is totally ignoring her. Will that last one change in tonight’s all-new episode? It sounds like it!

TVLine just dropped this juicy Steroline-related spoiler: Caroline will begin tonight’s episode wrapped only in a towel while in her dorm room…with Stefan. Furthermore, whatever goes down in said dorm room “will send Caroline on a day-long journey that ends with her literally gasping for air.” Intrigued yet?

Gasping for air has a couple of connotations for us. There are some good ones — of the sexy times variety. And some bad ones — of the fighting for one’s life in a locked vault pushed into a watery quarry variety. Here’s hoping Caroline’s experience ranks somewhere closer to the first kind. We cannot take another watery quarry storyline.

Most likely, this all has something to do with Stefan’s not-so-dead girlfriend, Ivy, who popped up at the end of the last episode as a new vampire. In the promo for tonight’s episode, we see Caroline and Ivy all hanging in Care’s dorm. “Let’s go party. You can teach me how to eat someone without killing them,” Ivy pleads with her new BFF. Something tells us this is going to be one hell of a party.

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
