Vampire Diaries Season 6 Spoilers: Stefan Is Caroline's "Rock"

 

Are you ready for The Vampire Diaries to return this Thursday? Because you know things are about to get super heavy for Caroline as she confronts the fact that her mother is dying, right? Well, at least she’ll have Stefan to lean on. Apparently, he will be her “rock” as she goes through this terrible time. What did TVD showrunner Julie Plec have to say about their upcoming dynamic?

Julie told E! Online: "Obviously, Caroline is going through a ton and Stefan as a lot of ground to make up, in terms of being a good friend. He really does step up and does work hard to win her friendship back and he is her rock through the whole experience. It really bonds them beautifully and will lead to questions about are there feelings there, can those feelings go anywhere? We'll see how that plays out over the rest of the season."
Oh, man. We are still a little nervous about Sheriff Forbes’ illness being used solely as a way to make Steroline happen. However, we are excited to see their friendship move past the awkward We’re Not Friends Anymore Because You Ditched Me phase from earlier this season. It was probably necessary, but was getting a little redundant.
Guys, this is going to be a very heavy storyline. If you haven’t checked out the promo for the next run of episodes, there is a particularly emotional moment when Sheriff Forbes tells Stefan: “I want you to promise me something. When I’m gone, Caroline is gonna need you.” And don’t even get us started on this synopsis for Episode 12. Brace yourselves, people!
