Vampire Diaries Promo x10 Breakdown: It’s Christmas Time!

If you thought The Vampire Diaries Thanksgiving episode was chock full of craziness, then you haven’t seen Christmastime in Mystic Falls. What’s going down in Season 6, Episode 10 (“Christmas Through Your Eyes”)? We have the full extended promo breakdown!

Mistletoe. We were promised mistletoe, and so it has appeared. Above Damon’s door threshold. As Elena approaches. At the beginning of the promo, we see her notice it. Her reaction? A smile and a “clever.” Oh, these two are so back on.

Parker family reunion. At :06, we see Kai tell Liv, Luke, and Jo: “It sure is nice to be around family for the holidays.” They look less thrilled. Understandable considering that, at :08, Kai stabs Jo with a stake and, at :17, he grabs Liv. And we thought the Mikaelsons had issues! (Just kidding — the Mikaelsons are still more screwed up than this witchy brood.)

Kai attacks Elena. At :10, it looks like Kai attacks Elena with a sword. This despite Damon’s plan to “Find Kai. Kill Kai.” Better get off the couch, Damon. He is causing havoc all over the place.

Alaric is still pissed. Alaric doesn’t seem to be over Damon’s compulsion of him. (And understandably so.) At :17, we see him tell Damon in a defeating and totally disappointed way: “Let’s finish this.” Are these two former besties teaming up to take Kai out and save the Parker clan? From the blow to the head Alari delivers Kai at :19, we think so.

Elena declares war. At :14, we see Elena all decked out in her Christmas hat and gloves teasingly tell someone: “You know you just declared war, right?” Who’s she talking to? Probably Bonnie or Caroline, given that this seems to be from Bonnie's flashbacks to Mystic Falls Christmas of yesteryear. Or maybe Matt, given their former romantic status?

Stefan v. Enzo. Speaking of war, the one Enzo has declared on Stefan is still on, and is using Matt as his soldier. Apparently, killing Enzo doesn’t work out to well for the perpetual human. At :20, we see him locked in the back of Enzo’s van. “You are going to help me deplete every ounce of happiness from Stefan’s life.” We are very nervous about this.

Salvatore brothers hug. There’s been a sad lack of Damon/Stefan bro time since Damon’s return and their epic reunion hug, but it looks like we’ll be getting another moment in next week’s episode. At :20, we see the brothers embrace. Don’t ruin this for us, Enzo!

Steroline hug! Even more unexpected and arguably delightful, we see Stefan holding Caroline at :23. And there are so many feels on his face. Will this ship finally get some traction, only to be taken out by Enzo? And how will Matt play into all of this? Suspense!
