Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Annie Wersching Cast as Lily in Season 6

While we still have almost a month until new episodes of The Vampire Diaries hit our TV screens, new spoilers are starting to hit the interwebs. One such spoiler comes to us via TVLine and it details a new character we’ll meet later on this season: Lily, played by 24 alumna Annie Wersching.

Lily is described as a “beautiful and strong” woman who is “articulate and caustic.” This character will be a recurring one that’ll be introduced to us in Season 6, Episode 15. Apparently Lily has a knack for protecting those she cares and will stop at nothing to ensure that nobody harms them. There’s no real clues as to who (or, as TVLine points out, what) she’ll be protecting or whether or not Lily will be a supernatural being.
Personally, we’d love to see Lily be a witch — and we wouldn’t be mad if she was part of the Gemini Coven. Maybe she’ll wind up being the mother to Kai, Jo, Liv, and Luke? We could certainly use more witches on the show because they’re proving to be super compelling.
