The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Elena Will "Risk Her Life" to Get Her Memories Back

Is there any chance Elena will regain her memories of her love for Damon? This is The Vampire Diaries — there’s always a chance. But that doesn’t mean it won’t be crazy dangerous. How will Elena “risk her life” to regain her memories?

Get ready for a walk down Delena memory lane. In this week’s episodeof TVD, Damon will be filling Elena in on some of their relationship highlights. According to TV Guide, this will include Season 3’s hotel makeout session.

Though it may be Damon who seems the most desperate for Elena to restore her memories, Elena is just as eager to remember her whole life — at least, she is eager enough to risk her life to get them back. According to the news outlet, “she ends up risking her life to get those memories back,” and the resulting scene will “leave you screaming” or “squealing.” One of those.

What could this tease mean? Well, we were quick to point out that, given that Mystic Falls in currently a no-magic zone, Elena could probably pop over the town line to end all compulsion effects. Of course, as soon as she does that, she will start dying in the manner she did to become a vampire, which in her case is drowning.

Is this the life-risking chance Elena will take? And, if so, will she go all the way and try to become human again a la Alaric? If someone were on hand to give Elena some well-timed rescue breaths, she could be human again. It’s risky, but possible and relatively simple compared to many of the vampires (and their gruesome deaths) around Mystic Falls. The real question is: would Elena want to be human again? And how might her lack of memory about her relationship with Damon affect her decision?

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
