The Vampire Diaries Promo Breakdown: Season 6, Episode 4 — "Black Hole Sun"
Promos are often misleading, but the preview for next week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries has us seriously scratching our heads. Why is Stefan proposing to Elena? And will Damon kill Kai? Here’s a breakdown of the promo for Season 6, Episode 4 (“Black Hole Sun”).
Stelena are drinking buddies. Stefan and Elena seem to be spending a lot of time together in Episode 4. In the promo, we see them out drinking together. “Things change, right? To change,” Stefan toasts, seemingly over that time he left Enzo for dead in the last episode. Elena answers with her own toast: “Who cares what people think?” Seriously, though, what are these two up to?
And are maybe getting married? Marriage, perhaps? At the end of the promo, we see Stefan getting down on one knee and proposing to Elena. He has a ring and everything. “I wanna spend the rest of my live with you. Elena Williams, will you…” Elena stops him with a “wait.” Is this because he got her name wrong or does she have to go to the bathroom or something?
Damon has found his hope. TVD made a big deal in the last episode about Damon’s lack of hope for making it out of purgatory. But Damon seems to have his hope back, if this line to Bonnie is any indication: “I gotta get back. Not just for Elena, but for my brother.” These two are killing it this season.
Bonnie’s magic is the key. Bonnie’s magic is back, baby, as is her friends’ tendency to assume she can solve any and all problems with it. In the promo, Kai tells her: “Your magic is the key to getting the hell out of here.” As long as Bonnie gets the gratitude she so richly deserves after all of this, OK, guys?
If Damon doesn’t kill Kai first. Then again, Kai might not even have a chance to say thanks. In the promo, Damon asks Bonnie, “Remind me not to kill him.” But when has Damon ever listened to anyone else? Later in the promo, we see him going after Kai as Bonnie trying to stop him. Yikes! That’s one-third of your population, remember?
Will Stefan and Elena be there if and when Bamon returns? If Bamon do make it home, there’s no guarantee their loved ones will be there. In the promo, we see Stefan and Elena climb onto a motorcycle. “Ready to start over?” Stefan asks. Seriously, have these two been vampire-drugged or something?
