Paul Wesley Talks Vampire Diaries and Reveals He's Totally on Team Steroline!

The central axis that The Vampire Diaries revolves around is whether Elena will end up with the good or the bad Salvatore brother, but Paul Wesley thinks someone else entirely would be good for his character.

The actor was interviewed by Vulture and he did not hold back about his thoughts on the so called 'love triangle,' or his ideas about who Stefan should finally end up with to be happy.

The 32-year-old actor admitted that the love triangle is getting totally old for him, and that he feels like the endgame has been and gone for Stelena. When asked about the love triangle, he told interviewers:

Yeah, I mean, there are only so many ways you can do it after a certain point. I almost don’t feel like it’s a love triangle anymore. I know it’s advertised as that — and I know that’s how it started.But Elena and Stefan are so platonic at this point that I just don’t really see that ever happening again.

Although Wesely doesn't see much steamy action coming from Stelena's "platonic" relationship, he has much higher hopes for a steamy tryst between him and long term BFF, Caroline. Wesley explained that:

Well, him and Caroline seem to have a connection. I’d like to see that go down. I’m all for that. So they’re ready to explore that. We've just got to get them over that friendship hump, let them get down and dirty, and then deal with the consequences.

Clearly, Wesley hasn't been reading fans impassioned pleas about Steroline online because when questioned about whether he thinks The Vampire Diaries viewers would want to see them get together he answered:

I don’t know, but I hope so. I think there’s some chemistry there.And I think Stefan’s ready for a new love. But it will be a while. Right now, the gang’s dispersed, Stefan’s disconnected, and there’s a new guy who’s totally sociopathic in town. Stefan really doesn’t want to have anything to do with it. He’s kind of thrown his hands in the air and doesn’t care

Come on Stefan! This is so important to bunch of us, just kiss the girl, already!
