The Vampire Diaries Crossover With The Originals Has Already Been Shot!

We’ve been dying to see our favorite characters from The Vampire Diaries crossover to The Originals (or vice versa) again, but we had no idea the wait would be relatively short. According toE! Online, the shows have already filmed a crossover for Season 6/Season 2. Excuse us while we go hyperventilate into a bag.The entertainment news outlet didn’t have any details to spill, other than the existence of said crossover, but we’re breaking down what we know about these shows to speculate on when this might happen and what it will entail. Read on if you want to join in!

When will it happen? It generally takes 7-10 days to film an hour-long episode of television.TVD started filming its sixth season in mid-July, which means they have been filming for about two months. That equates to about 6 or 7 episodes. Our best guess? The crossover episode will come about a quarter of the way through the season.

What will it entail? Well, we could go on forever with possible crossover ideas. (And, no, not allof them involve Klaroline.) Now that we know a crossover will happen early in the TV season, our theory that it will have to do with Bamon’s current predicament is gaining traction. Will the Mystic Falls gang have to ask the Mikaelsons for help in bringing back their loved ones? We certainly hope so.

Will there be more? Julie Plec told HitFix at Comic Con: "Yes, we're always taking about different paths we can take to bring different characters from one show to another … We're talking about stories right now even as we speak.” Though multiple crossovers haven’t been confirmed, the fact that the shows are getting one crossover in so early in the season and Julie’s use of the plural in the above statement has us hopeful.
