The Vampire Diaries Spoiler Roundup 5x21

The Vampire Diaries Spoiler Roundup: Season 5, Episode 21 — "Promised Land"

This week brings The Vampire Diariespenultimate episode of Season 5. With only two episodes left in the season, anything could happen. Here’s what we know so far about Season 5, Episode 21 (“Promised Land”).
Stelena is stranded in a remote location. Yeah, we know that happened last week, too, but according to the synopsis, “Stefan and Elena escape from Markos’ control, only to find themselves stranded in a remote location.” Time for some more charades, perhaps?
Stelena talks Delena. Stelena has seriously ventured into the friend zone in recent episodes and it sounds like they will continue to hang there, given that “Stefan gets philosophical with Elena about her relationship with Damon.” What does that mean exactly? We’ll have to watch to find out, but we think Stefan might be rooting for Delena to work it out.
The wonder twins want to kill Stelena. Well, they only want to kill one of them. In the promo for the episode, we see Liv tell a begrudging Luke, “We have to kill Stefan and Elena.” But, hey, at least she pre-apologizes for it! Later in the promo, we see her flip Stelena’s car with her powers. “I’m sorry,” she tells an injured Elena. “One of you has to die.” Luke still looks conflicted about this plan. Will he step in to stop his sister?
Project Catch Markos. Meanwhile, in the bro-zone, “Damon recruits Matt and Jeremy to help him set a trap for Markos.” Maybe not such a good idea, Damon? Matt and Jeremy haven’t had the best of luck with their plans working out this season. It sounds like this one might go the way of the Travelers, too. It turns out Markos has “a devastating surprise of his own.” Theories? Elsewhere in Mystic Falls, “Bonnie searches desperately for a way to stop Markos.” Maybe these four could team up or something?
Bonnie finally tells someone. This week in Bonnie Watch, she “finally admits to Caroline that she’s been keeping the truth about the Other Side from everyone.” Well, Caroline was just complaining about her friends’ not confiding in her. Be careful what you wish for, Care Bear!
An unthinkable act of violence. Caroline is probably going to have a bummer of an episode considering, in addition to the Bonnie reveal, she will play witness to “an unthinkable act of violence by one of the Travelers.” Our money is that the Traveler in question is none other than Julian, aka the dude who just stole Tyler’s smoking hybrid body.
It may be too late. Whatever plans the fang gang has to stop Markos and his band of yammering Travelers, it may already be too late. In the promo, we see Markos state: “The spell has already begun.” We also see presumably Travelers Passengered inside of Mystic Falls residents dropping to the ground in quick succession. What is going on here?!
