Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Epic Delena Scene in Season 5, Episode 20 

We’re not sure what Delena’s relationship will look like moving forward on The Vampire Diaries. Both are infected with Ripper viruses, and Elena (Nina Dobrev) is yet to find out all of the murdering Damon (Ian Somerhalder) did while she was gone — but the two will be having an epic scene in Season 5, Episode 20. Check out the photo evidence!

“Incredible night filming with @IanSomerhalder and @NinaDobrev. Epic scene in the making. #TVD 5x20 #DirectorPride,” director Joshua Butler tweeted Friday, along with a photo of Damon and Elena having an intense nighttime conversation. In the pic, Damon seems to be speaking very passionately about something, his hands in the air in front of him. The two are standing outside of a house at night, a car parked nearby with its trunk open. Oh no. Did Damon kill someone else?

It’s hard to predict what this convo might be about. We’re guessing the dust may have cleared from the Ripper virus storyline by Episode 20 given that Elena is not dead. In the promo for this week’s episode — Season 5, Episode 16 (“While You Were Sleeping”) —  we see Elena throwing herself at Damon, not caring what he’s done or how dangerous her werewolf venom-laced bite may be. This is most likely a result of the hallucinations she’s having as a side effect of the Super Ripper Virus. In the promo, she yells at Damon that she can’t stop loving him — even if he thinks she should. Is this the same conversation the two are having in the photo above, or is Elena starting to have reservations about their relationship given Damon’s recent life choices? Ugh. We’re dying to find out!
