Cast Was "Supportive"

Paul Wesley: Cast Was "Supportive" of Directorial Debut — Except For Kat Graham

This week, Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore) opened up to TV Guide about his directorial debut, telling the magazine: "I was expecting some hazing from the cast, but everyone was so supportive." Co-star Kat Graham (Bonnie Bennett) disagrees. What did she tweet in response to the article?
“Paying super close attention and not covering my ears while @paulwesley directs his first episode of vampire diaries,” Kat tweeted, along with a scan of the TV Guide magazine article about Paul’s directorial debut. In the accompanying photo, Paul is looking over the script with Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy) and Kat is sitting next to them completely not paying attention. Ha!
We have a sneaking suspicion that Kat is totally joking, however. While Paul was directing, she shared this awesome behind-the-scenes shot of him as director, with the caption: “@paulvedere directing today.” Yeah, they totally love one another.
Paul directed Season 5, Episode 18 (“Rescue Me”) of TVD, which is scheduled to air April 17. He told TV Guide of his turn as director:  "I was very strategic. After I shadowed directors and sat in the editing room, they finally said, 'OK, let's give it a shot.'" After the fact, Paul is “relatively confident” he didn’t screw it up! But, we have faith — and so does his co-stars…
Marguerite MacIntyre (aka Sheriff Forbes) gave her vote of approval right away, tweeting: “Worked with an awesome new director yesterday, @paulwesley. #likeaducktowater.” And Paul’s boss, executive producer Julie Plec, tweeted: “According to set, @paulwesley is about to yell "ACTION" on his first shot as a director of #TVD. Way to go, Paul(a), way to go.” We can’t wait to see the final product!
