Nina Dobrev has hinted she's over her former romance with Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder after admitting that she's content living the single life and doesn't need a man to make her “happy.”
The 25-year-old began dating fellow vampire Somerhalder, 28, in 2010 but the previously smitten couple broke up last year and it looks as though Nina isn't looking back as she reveals that she's enjoying being on her own.
Nina reportedly told German magazine Joy: “I definitely don't need anyone to make me happy. I can do that all by myself.”
The declaration of single independence may come as a disappointment to Ian, who recently reminisced over his Super Bowl date with Nina last year while also admitting that it's “quiet” in his bedroom without the pretty actress. “This time last year I was 9thRow 20yd line(thanks @ninadobrev ) sittin with my pop at the SUPER DOME-Its so much quieter in my bedroom,” Ian tweeted on Sunday.
He may not be single for long though after asking his 4.64 million Twitter followers if they'll be his valentine. Reactions to Ian's questions prompted a few funny responses with one fan posting: "Eat me" and another simply tweeting: "sure bby."
Meanwhile, Nina has admitted that the rollercoaster of drama on TVD often takes its toll on her emotions, telling Joy: “It does leave marks, because a lot of people die on the show. “As an actress I need to go through all that and, to a certain degree, need to live it all myself. How many tears I must have already shed in this role!”
