There's no shortage of drama when it comes to The Vampire Diaries. But it appears that one person who won't be involved in all of it is Nina Dobrev's character Elena after the actress recently revealed that she is "kind of gone." Speaking about what's coming up in the hit CW network drama which recently celebrated it's 100th episode and hinting that Elena's doppelganger Katherine is here to stay, Nina told MTV News: "Elena is kind of gone, Katherine took over her body, so she's MIA and nobody knows, it's kind of like going missing, like, getting kidnapped and the kidnapper leaving a note and saying that you're on vacation for indefinitely and, well, nobody is going to look for you because they don't know you're gone." "It's kind of a scary thing for her and it'll be interesting to see how long Katherine can get away with it."
The actress who used to date her fellow TVD star Ian Somerhalder also revealed what her favourite moment from the supernatural show was. She said: "I do have a favorite moment: when I got to cut off John Gilbert's (David Anders) fingers. That was a highlight. Definitely something you can't do in real life. "Or I wouldn't do, some people do, but I don't. So it was cool to get to do it on TV." Whilst Nina's TVD character's love life has been complicated, the actress recently hinted that she's happy to be single at the moment. Nina reportedly told German magazine Joy: “I definitely don't need anyone to make me happy. I can do that all by myself.”
