The Vampire Diaries Synopsis For Season 5, Episode 20: "What Lies Beneath"

With the Other Side in complete disarray, the line between alive and dead is getting pretty hazy on The Vampire Diaries. But what’s this we hear about our Mystic Falls friends playing a “parlor game” in Season 5, Episode 20 (“What Lies Beneath”)? Don’t they know that a deadly finale is right around the corner?

The synopsis reveals that Stefan and Elena are hiding a secret, leaving Caroline and Damon no choice but to get it out of them. Don’t forget that all of this is going on while Markos is out working on his big plans.

Meanwhile, poor Bonnie is putting her relationship with Jeremy in jeopardy by keeping all of the Other Side drama to herself. Come on Bon Bon, let him in! Oh, and Grams is back!

“When Tyler (Michael Trevino) turns up at the Salvatore house with the news that Markos’ (Raffi Barsoumian) plan to break the witches’ curse puts Stefan and Elena in imminent danger, Damon suggests they hide out in the remote cabin once owned by Caroline’s father. Once there, it becomes obvious to Caroline that Stefan and Elena are keeping a secret, so Damon comes up with a parlor game designed to expose the truth. A ghostly presence at the cabin uses violence and fire to make itself known. Meanwhile, Matt (Zach Roerig) takes charge of Tyler’s plan to get information from one of the Travelers, and Bonnie continues to keep the truth about the Other Side from Jeremy, despite warnings from Grams (Jasmine Guy).”
