"Fun, Suspenseful, and Romantic"

The Vampire Diaries Season 5, Episode 20 Is "Fun, Suspenseful, and Romantic"

What can we expect from Season 5, Episode 20 (“What Lies Beneath”) of The Vampire Diaries’? A little bit of fun, suspense, and romance, according to TVD director Joshua Butler. Sounds good to us! What else did he have to say about the upcoming episode?
“Episode is SO NOT weird, promise,” Joshua tweeted in response to a fan’s concerns that the synopsis made the installment sound strange. “It's fun, suspenseful and romantic.” We’ll take Joshua’s word for it, as well as the intrigue in the episode synopsis. Seriously, give it a read.

Vampire parlor games? It sounds like our dreams of a TVD/Downton Abbey crossover are finally coming true! (Is the ghostly presence trying to break through the Dowager Countess?) We’re impressed that Damon even knows any parlor games...we would have thought party games would have been more up Caroline’s alley. But we love this implication that Caroline and Damon are working together. Hell really has frozen over. Well, maybe not hell, but it sounds like a certain supernatural purgatory may be undergoing some less-than-pleasant changes -- and Bonnie has her denial goggles on. There’s a lot of secret-keeping happening in this episode, and we’re dying to see the moments when the truth comes out. Also, we’re for Matt taking charge of anything. Hands up if you think the Traveler he’s milking for information could be Nadia. That would be romantic, suspenseful, and fun.
