Vampire Diaries Logic Fails 6x13

Vampire Diaries Logic Fails: Season 6, Episode 13

Elena Is Shocked in Season 6, Episode 13 (“The Day I Tried to Live”)

The Vampire Diaries prioritizes other things over logic: like romance and the best flashback wigs this side of Arrow. That being said, this show does follow some manner of internal logic and we both appreciate that and are, occasionally, distracted by its lapses. Here were the biggest logic fails from Season 6, Episode 13 (“The Day I Tried to Live”).

Matt and Enzo’s little trip. How do people keep popping down to Duke on this show? Doesn’t Matt have a job he needs to show up at? (Logic points, though, for mentioning Matt’s mom. Come back, Julie Cooper!)

Bonnie needs help to figure out a spell? We know Damon has been around for a million years, but Bonnie is the one who has been straight-up saving all of her friends for the last five and a half seasons. If anyone is going to figure out that she needs some magical blood to get back home, then it’s going to be the witch with nothing else to do but think about her escape. It’s definitely not going to be the people who are too busy eating cupcakes and celebrating their friend’s birthday without her.

Jeremy uses his old application. We had to laugh out loud when Jeremy unfurled his crumpled up application that he had so obviously retrieved from the trash. We get that this moment had visual value, but he couldn’t have printed out a new application? Come to think of it, isn’t this the sort of thing that should probably be happening online? What year is it on TVD again? It can be hard to keep track.

Bonnie’s suicidal turn. Granted, we’ve never been stuck in a prison world all by our lonesome, but does anyone think that Bonnie’s suicidal turn — given she’s never exhibited such tendencies before — seemed a little sudden? Sure, being alone can be, well, lonely, but Bonnie literally has the entire world to explore. She can read all of the books and visit all of the sites and sleepover in all of the museums. She can binge-watch all of The X-Files...in her own private movie theatre. Yeah, there would be tough days, but we think Bonnie would last a little bit longer before deciding to end it all. After the last few years she’s had in the “real” world, this should be like an extended vacation! That being said, Kat Graham killed it this week, no?

Enzo’s entire storyline. We’re still not really sure why Enzo hates Stefan so much. Or how turning Sarah Salvatore into a despicable human being who wants to become a vampire would help turn Damon against Stefan, which is where this whole vendetta thing started, right? And maybe Matt should call his mom, tell her to leave town, then tell someone about Enzo’s destructive behavior?
The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

From Stefan To...........

Paul Wesley on How His Amira & Sam Character Is Different Than Stefan

On the One Time He Actually Bit a Fan

We love Paul Wesley as the hero-haired Stefan Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, but that doesn’t mean we’re not eager to see the actor exercise his acting muscles in other roles — like his role in indie film Sam & Amira. The TVDer recently chatted with MTV News about the project, including how his character in the film differs from good guy Stefan...

“This guy is definitely more human [than Stefan], and I mean that literally and figuratively,” Paul said of the morally-questionable cousin of main character Sam he plays in the film. “He’s very flawed. He eschews this enormous amount of confidence, but he’s really just falling apart; he’s this vulnerable, weak person who is doing all of these questionable things in terms of illegal activities on Wall Street. It was such a welcome change from what I do on a daily basis, where [Stefan] is all-knowing and confident, and he’s always doing the right thing. I really think it was a 180, and I hope audiences can see that.”
Sam & Amira tells the love story of Army veteran Sam (Martin Starr) and Iraqi immigrant Amira (Dina Shihabi) who strike up an unexpected relationship when Amira’s brother asks Sam to let Amira stay at his house to evade deportation. Paul plays Sam’s condescending Wall Street cousin who uses Sam’s veteran status as a way to garner clients.
The themes of the film are ones close to Paul’s heart as a first-generation American. He told MTV News: “What I love about it is America really is comprised of immigrants, including my own family. I’m first generation. I hope people see [the movie] and appreciate it. That’s what I loved about New York growing up — I was always around different cultures. It’s great to do this movie, because even people who aren’t exposed to different culture like I was will take something away from it.”
The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

Support For Ex?

Nina Dobrev Shows Support For Ian Somerhalder's Directorial Debut!

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev Win Favorite On-Screen Chemistry at 2014 People's Choice Awards

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder may no longer be a romantic item, but that doesn’t mean the Vampire Diaries co-stars and longtime couple don’t still support one another. Since these two broke up in 2013 and Ian started dating now-fiance Nikki Reed, there have been the requisite rumors of bad blood between the co-stars. But, from the looks of Nina’s latest Instagram, she couldn’t be happier to see her ex making his TVD directorial debut!

“It's not everyday you come to set and the Directors wearing a Tutu. Unless said Director is @IanSomerhalder. Then it's totally normal,” Nina captioned a photo of Ian, yes, wearing a tutu as he worked behind the scenes of Season 6, Episode 16 (“The Downward Spiral”) with Kat Graham. The actor’s turn as director will mark his first stint behind the camera.

Ian also took to Instagram to telegraph his directorial fashion. He shared a snapshot of himself with the tutu, captioning it: “Live from the set of the Vampire Diaries- me directing in a black tutu... Totally normal right?”
You gotta love the way Ian makes the TVD directorial role his own. Though both co-star Paul Wesley  and boss Julie Plec have also both stepped out of their traditional roles as actor and showrunner, respectively, they haven’t done it with quite the same degree of panache. Ian truly is one of a kind.
We’re always glad to see the TVD cast supporting one another, but it seems particularly heartwarming given all of the press Nina and Ian get about their working relationship following their breakup. Whatever is or isn’t between these two, they’re professional enough not only to continue to make great television together, but to support one another in taking creative chances. TVD family FTW

The Final Girls?

Nina Dobrev's Latest Film, The Final Girls,

Premiering at SXSW 2015

We’ve been dying to see Nina Dobrev’s new meta-horror film The Final Girls since the Vampire Diaries star showered us with hilarious Instagrams from its filming last summer. And that moment is finally here — well, if you managed to snag a ticket to this year’s South By Southwest Festival. Check out the deets!

“It's official!! #FINALGIRLS will be premiering/opening SXSW on Friday the 13th of March! #regram @straussschulson,” Nina tweeted, along with a link to a WhoSay photo of Austin’s Paramount Theatre. Yep, this girl seems excited!
And rightfully so. The Final Girls sounds awesome. Starring Malin Akerman and Taissa Farmiga in the leads, it will tell the story of a girl and her friends who are transported into an iconic ‘80s horror flick starring the girl’s recently-deceased mother. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The group must try to survive the movie and defeat its crazed killer.” Sounds great, right?
Nina will be playing the “alpha ex-best friend,” which has us worried about her chances of survival. Also starring is Silicon Valley’s Thomas Middleditch, Workaholics’ Adam Devine, and The Hunger Games’ Alexander Ludwig. The gang seemed to have a lot of fun filming the movie together in Louisiana last summer. Maybe it was the welcome baskets? We’re still waiting for Nina to get the kind of film roles she deserves, but — in the mean time — The Final Girls sounds like an excellent movie to be a part of.
The SXSW Film Festival will run from March 13 to March 21 in Austin, Texas. Mark your calendars, ticket holders!

Chris Wood & Nina Dobrev Together At The Super Bowl?

Nina Dobrev & Chris Wood: Partying Together At Super Bowl?

Did Hunky new Vampire Diaries star Chris Wood spend Super Bowl Sunday partying with his rumored new love Nina Dobrev? We have all the deets!

Chris Wood, 26, uploaded an Instgram pic during the Super Bowl with one of his Vampire Diaries Co-Stars while Nina Dobrev, 26, shared a ton of pics as she partied the night away — but were the two together? We totally ship this new pair!

Unfortunately, the two were not together the night of the Super Bowl. Chris uploaded a pic with his co-star Matt Davis (aka Alaric). He captioned the pic, “stuper bohl.”
While Chris and Matt watched the big game from home, Nina partied in Arizona at the actual game! Nina was not with Chris Wood, but she was definitely not Chris-less!
She spent the night in a suite watching the game with two of Hollywood’s finest men named “Chris” — Chris Evans and Chris Pratt! (Yes, we know. Chris overload!) Um….wouldn’t Nina and Chris Evans make the cutest couple EVER?
The reason we thought Chris Wood and Nina would be spending Super Bowl Sunday together is because they have been getting pretty close lately. The rumored couple recently hit up a Spartan Race to unwind. Chris posted a picture after the event of an adorable moment between the pair.
Nina held a husky puppy to Chris’ face, and the puppy gave him a sweet kiss! He captioned the photo, “No pain, no husky. #SpartanRace.” In the pic, the pair was covered in mud, and Chris was also shirtless! Sound the alarm! In the comments section of the Instagram photo, fans were voicing their happiness over a “Dobrewood” moment.
Nina and Chris have been getting closer ever since he was cast on TVD. The actress was spotted leaving an InStyle after party for the Golden Globes with a “mystery man” that looked a lot like Chris!

Nina Dobrev’s Rumored Crush Chris Wood Befriends Ian Somerhalder

Chris Wood & Ian Somerhalder Friends Despite Relations With Nina Dobrev

How adorable — Nina Dobrev’s new rumored fling, Chris Wood, showed off a pic on his Instagram where he supported her ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder!

They play rivals on-screen but according to a new pic, Ian Somerhalder, 36, and Chris Wood, 26, are quite friendly behind the scenes, despite their relations with Nina Dobrev, 26, in real life!

As we all know, Ian and Nina have quite the history (the met during season 1 of The Vampire Diaries and fell in love instantly). Now that they are broken up, Nina is a single lady and reportedly crushing on her new co-star Chris Wood — we don’t blame her! He is SO hot.
On Feb, 4, Chris uploaded a photo with Ian on set with the caption, “And that’s a wrap on DIRECTOR, @iansomerhalder! Congrats, brother.”
It’s so cute how supportive Chris is of Ian during his big day of directing — clearly there is no bad blood!

The rumors that Chris and Nina are dating blew up even more after pictures of them hanging out off set surfaced. They recently attended a Spartan Race and afterwards, Chris posted a picture of an adorable moment between the pair.
Nina held a husky puppy to Chris’ face, and the puppy gave him a sweet kiss! He captioned the photo, “No pain, no husky. #SpartanRace.” A Spartan Race is a series of obstacle races that feature fire jumps, a barbed wire crawl through mud and more.
In the pic, the pair was covered in mud, and Chris was also shirtless! Yum!
