Ugly Cry!

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Finale Spoilers: Get Ready to Ugly Cry!

Vampire Diaries season finales tend to be uber emotional with plot twists that leave us reeling until the next season’s premiere — and it sounds like the Season 5 finale will be much the same. What did executive producer Julie Plec tease about the upcoming episode?
“Just ugly-cried my way through the ending of @Chrisgrismer's epic director's cut of the TVD season finale. Hashtag Kleenex,” Julie tweeted earlier today. Oh, dear. It sounds like this particular season finale will be epicly tear-jerking. We’re not sure if we can handle TVD at its most tragic. It knows how to elicit an emotional reaction like none other.
The two characters we fear will be most affected by the potentially tragic events in the Season 5 finale: Bonnie Bennett and Damon Salvatore. According to TV Guide, the Travelers plan to break the curse put upon their people by destroying all magic. This includes the Other Side, to which Bonnie is anchored (not to mention, which holds many of our fallen friends).
As for Damon’s part in all of this? Well, we think he may be trying to save the day. "There's quite a lot of suffering and celebration in the last two episodes," Julie told E! Online. "Because of Markos's efforts to make the town of Mystic Falls a magic-free zone and the imminent destruction of the Other Side, lots of lives are in jeopardy and Damon has to, as he says, 'strap on his hero hair.'"
Whatever goes down in the Season 5 finale, it’s game-changing. Paul Wesley told TV Guide: "[The finale] definitely establishes new parameters in the environment we'll be shooting in Season 6," Paul said. "They reset things in a way, and the writers have the ability to now change the circumstances and locations of where the show takes place."
Yikes! It sounds like things are going to get intense in the season-ender.
