Paul Wesley Always Has a "Shirtless, Angry Man" in His Trailer — Why?
Why does Paul Wesley have a “large, shirtless, angry man” in his trailer on the Vampire Diaries set? The truth is finally out! Hear Paul tell the hilarious story on The Talk.
“I have someone special waiting for me in my trailer at all times. It’s a large, shirtless, angry man,” Paul told the women of The Talk while he was there promoting his new indie film, Sam & Amira. He brought along a photo and, it turns out, said “man” in question is actually a punching dummy Paul has dressed up to look fairly intimidating — much to the shock of the rest of the cast.
“So, basically, I like to box,” Paul explained. “So, I set this guy up, but I set him up to look like a scary dude. And so, now, whenever somebody comes into my dressing room, there’s an audible shriek because this guy’s standing there, staring at them when they come in.”
Oh, how we love stories of the TVD set! Paul went on to make us laugh explaining that he wouldn’t actually hire someone to box with him because: “I’m just like an actor boxer. I only hit things that don’t hit back. I’m not a real boxer. I’m not like Mickey Rourke. I’m a CW actor boxer.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the accoutrements of Paul’s trailer. Nina Dobrevonce gave him a portrait of herself to hang out in celebration of his directorial debut, and we know that Paul has a history of lurking inside of other people’s dressing rooms — at least the cardboard version of himself. It was last seen hanging out in Daniel Gillies’ dressing room, as evidenced by this photo Paul himself took. Basically, you should brace yourselves whenever entering any of the TVD cast members’ trailers. You never know what you might find.
