‘The Vampire Diaries': A Stelena Reunion Isn’t ‘Out Of The Question’
I know, Steroline fans — it’s almost time for that kiss we’ve been waiting way too long for. But Paul Wesley has some news: there’s still hope for a future between Stefan and Elena. Wait a minute, what?!
With The Vampire Diaries finally returning after their all-too-long winter break, Paul Wesley will take the director’s chair. Of course, that means he has a lot to say about what’s going on, and the future of Stefan and Caroline. In a new interview, he revealed that while Steroline is totally happening, that doesn’t mean Stelena’s not.“I don’t think it’s out of the question,” Paul told People magazine about the possibility of Stefan reuniting romantically with Elena. “I think it’s contingent upon the writing – writers are really magicians. They can come up with anything, and it just depends on what the audience wants. Writers can make it seem like Caroline and Stefan are the end game, and suddenly switch it on a dime and then everyone is rooting for Stefan and Elena. You never know on this show, but I think that’s what keeps it fresh and exciting.”
Yes, “everything he does revolves around Caroline at this point,” Paul told our sister site, TVLine.com, but that doesn’t mean that’s how it’ll be forever. We all know the show can change at any moment — at one point we actually liked Caroline with Tyler, so that’s a clear point!
Regardless, we know that when Paul steps behind the camera, it’s going to be amazing.
“There’s a scene at the end of the episode, the final sequence, and it really puts my episode on the map in terms of having an effect,” he told TVLine. “It’s really effecting. I don’t want to reveal what happens, but it’s a scene that has a really interesting twist and leaves you going, ‘Oh, sh-t!'”
