The Vampire Diaries Season 6, Episode 5 — 10 Burning Questions
Holy moly, what an episode! We kind of adored the most recent episode of The Vampire Diaries – and not just for the final scene between the Salvatore bros. It was the kind of episode that left us with many questions to be answered, and us even more eager to see upcoming installments. Here are our top 10 burning questions from Season 6, Episode 5 (“The World Has Turned and Left Me Here”).
Why can’t Alaric compel Jo? Whoa. What happened to Alaric’s super compulsion abilities? Is it only Jo he can’t compel or is he losing the ability to compel altogether? This could be particularly problematic for a certain friend of his who had him erase her memories of a certain love of her life who happened to have come back in this episode. (We’re talking about Delena.)
How will Elena react to Damon’s return? How do you respond to the miraculous resurrection of the love of your life who you had mostly erased from your memory? Is there a card for that? We’re about to find out.
Is Bonnie dead? She can’t be dead, right? Please don’t let her be dead. (Though, something tell us being stuck with an angry Kai may be a fate worse than death. Also, no more pancakes.)
What will Caroline do next? At the end of the episode, Caroline saw Tripp vamp-nap Ivy nearby Whitmore College. What will she do now? Who will she go to for help given the state of her friendship with Stefan?
Is this the end of Elena/Liam? We have a feeling that days of the budding romance between Elena and Liam may be numbered, but maybe not over just yet? Damon may be back, but we imagine Elena is more confused than ever about how he does or doesn’t fit into her life. Will she continue to pursue things with fun, uncomplicated Liam while she figures it out?
Can Steroline repair their relationship? Yikes, the Steroline relationship is taking a beating so far this season. In this episode, Stefan dumped his new vampire girlfriend on Caroline’s lap to deal with, then made a break for it. For her part, Caroline told him not to come back. Something tells us this is something else Hallmark doesn’t have a card for.
Will Liam investigate Elena’s miraculous healing ability? Elena may have temporarily distracted Liam’s line of questioning about the co-ed she miraculously saved (with her own vampire blood), but something tells us Liam hasn’t dropped this issue.
Will Tyler kill someone? Who knew it was so hard to not-kill someone? Most of us do it every day. Tyler, however, has some trouble with it. We think it’s only a matter of time before he re-triggers his werewolf curse, but who knows? In the mean time, hopefully, we’ll be treated to Tyler accidentally almost killing people left and right.
Will Tripp kill Ivy? Tripp seems to have employed a snatch-and-question strategy in his apprehension of Enzo, but will Ivy get the same option. Given that she is a new, obviously confused vampire, we wonder if Tripp might just drive her over the Mystic Falls border and be done with her.
Will Damon tell the others the truth about Bonnie? We’re particularly eager to hear what Damon has to say about Bonnie and his time trapped in purgatory. If he thinks she’s gone for good, then he may opt to lie about her final terrible moments. If he thinks there’s a chance to save her, will he lead the efforts to bring Bamon back?
