Stefan to The Originals!

Vampire Diaries Boss Wants to Send Stefan to The Originals!

So far, we’ve been underwhelmed by the scope of crossover betweenThe Vampire Diaries and The Originals. Nina Dobrev will appear in flashbacks during Season 2, Episode 5 of The Originals as doppelganger Tatia, but we can’t help but feel these two shows that share a fictional universe as missing a major opportunity by keeping their storylines so separate.
And it seems that even executive producer Julie Plec harbors her own secret crossover wishlist. Which characters did she say she would swap between TVD and The Originals?
“I would want Rebekah [played byClaire Holt] in a heartbeat,” Julie told The Wrap. “In a heartbeat.”
“Who would I give [to 'The Originals']? Um, I would probably give them Stefan [played by Paul Wesley],” she said. “I just really like the Stefan-Klaus relationship. They can go on a little romp together.”
Wow. That would certainly change up the dynamics of both shows. Of course, even if Julie decided to make such a major change, the swap is no longer possible. Claire Holt has since left The Originalsas a series regular, and has been cast in NBC’s upcoming period detective drama Aquarius.
But it’s kind of amazing to imagine how this switcheroo would affect both shows. For one, having another character in NOLA to potentially sway Klaus back towards his morality would be helpful. Though, Klaus also has a history of bringing out Stefan’s less-than-noble side.
As for Rebekah, she improves any show she’s on. And we’re still waiting to see the next chapter in her love story with Matt “Blue Eyes” Donovan. They may not have shared the most epic of romances, but something about their dynamic really worked. Perhaps, it’s that they both deserve happiness after everything the people they love have put them through. Just saying: We would watch the Mabekah and Hope spin-off series.
