Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Will Stefan and Caroline Hook Up? Paul Wesley Hopes So!

As far as we’re concerned, anything could happen in the romance department in The Vampire Diaries Season 6, but the surest bet lies with besties-turned-possibly-something-else Stefan  and Caroline. What did Paul tell TVGuide he hoped would happen between their characters in the upcoming season?
"I think they should just have sex," Paul said of Season 6 Steroline. "Get it out of the way and see how it goes." Well, that’s certainly direct, isn’t it? To be honest — we could see this happening. Sparks were flying between these two characters at the end of Season 5, and — with the substantial time jump between seasons — who knows where we’ll find these characters. Heck, they may have even gotten happily together during the hiatus. (Wouldn’t that be cruel?)
The more we think about it, the more we believe Steroline is going to be one of the romantic anchors for Season 6. With Delena separated, Stelena seemingly over for now, and the direction the writers took Steroline in the latter half of Season 5, this could be the season for these long-time friends. We’re still not sure how we feel about these besties turning lovers, but we’re willing to see it play out — after all, Klaus Mikaelson didn’t say next love; he said last.
