Mark your calendars! The Vampire Diaries finale — aka Season 5, Episode 22 (“Home”) — falls on Thursday, May 15 at 8 p.m. ET. This means we only have two episodes left in the season. What can we expect from the sure-to-be-climactic season-ender? Read on to find out!
Your jaw will drop
Michael Malarkey (Enzo) told The Hollywood Reporter about the episode: “When I read that final episode, my jaw hit the floor by the end of it,” Michael teased. “It was that good. It has such a good cliffhanger that's going to have everybody squealing. You guys gotta tune in. Everyone's going to be speechless at the end of it.” Consider it done, dude.
Three characters will die
The Season 5 finale will see three separate deaths and, since the Other Side is going kaput, those deaths will be permanent. No popping over from supernatural purgatory from time to time to say hello. Who might the deaths be? We have our suspicions.
Damon will be central
All signs point to Damon playing a pivotal role in the Season 5 finale. Not only will he be donning his “hero hair” for the episode, but Ian Somerhalder told E! Online: “The ending, I think, is really gonna throw people and it definitely involves Damon in a very cool way,” Ian teased. “I’m actually excited to see what happens.” And, whatever goes down, “it will be Damon's big moment with another lady in Mystic Falls that will have people talking after the finale airs,” Ian told TV Guide.
You will ugly cry
But, beware! This episode may send you into a sobbing, snotty mess. It did for executive producer Julie Plec: “Just ugly-cried my way through the ending of @Chrisgrismer's epic director's cut of the TVD season finale. Hashtag Kleenex.”
