Damon Threatens Bonnie!

Vampire Diaries Season 5 Finale Sneak Peek: Damon Threatens Bonnie!

Damon is losing it in TV Guide’s exclusive sneak peek for the Vampire Diaries Season 5 finale. Stefan’s death has turned Damon into a basket case with a fire poker, and he’s threatening Bonnie’s life in a desperate attempt to save his brother from oblivion. Seriously, if Ian’s performance in this scene doesn’t make you tear up, then you need to get your lacrimal glands checked.
“You said you had a plan, Bonnie,” Damon says, taking a break from smashing things to point his fire poker at the witch-turned-anchor.
Bonnie explains that she did have a plan — until her Traveler source was sucked into a Vortex O’ Doom. Besides: “It’s more than just knowing the spell. Markos was able to come back because dozens of Travelers were willing to sacrifice themselves in order to overwhelm me. I don’t they’ll be willing to do that for a bunch of supernatural strangers.”
Damon thinks Bonnie has an incentive problem: “You know who needs motivation? You need motivation. Because if the Other Side goes away, everyone we know there, including you, goes away with it.”
Bonnie’s all: “Do you think I wanna die?” OK, now she’s breaking our heart, too. We’ve really enjoyed Kat Graham’s performance as Bonnie in these last couple of episodes, and she continues to nail it in this scene. As Damon threatens Bonnie with a fire poker, she manages to convey annoyance over his poor listening skills, a desperate frustration concerning the dire situation, and compassion for Damon’s loss. If the rest of the episode is as emotionally raw as this scene, TVD may give The Originals a run for its money in the season finale feels department.
