Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev have been apart for quite some time now, but these two Vampire Diaries stars are still sparking rumors about their love life. Not only do these two film romantic scenes together — snagging the 2014 People’s Choice Award for Favorite On-Screen Chemistry — but it seems that the pair can’t breathe without the rumor mill kicking into high gear. What’s being said about the former couple these days?
These two just shared an emotional goodbye during the Season 5 finale — Season 5, Episode 22 (“Home”) — many sites are speculating that the on-screen emotions had a bit of real world motivation behind them. In fact, Celebrity Dirty Laundry claims the two are back together and giving it one more shot, though they’re reportedly taking it slow this time around.
Given the fact that filming for the show has already wrapped up and Ian seems to be traveling around the globe while Nina is in production for her new movie, The Final Girls, down in Louisiana — it would be pretty tough for these two to be in a relationship being on different continents. Unless they’ve been super secret, there’s no evidence that the two have even hung out recently. Ian has even been very vocal about the fact that he is living the single life — and we don’t think he’d lie over and over again.
Take this with a grain of salt, Nian fans. We don’t think these two are getting back together at all, we just think they are co-stars who happen to know how to remain friends after dating each other. There’s no harm in that!
