Vampire Diaries Extended Promo: Season 5, Episode 20 — "What Lies Beneath"
Vampire Diaries is going full-on horror next week with Season 5, Episode 20 (“What Lies Beneath”). Catch a preview of all of the haunting moments in the extended promo for the episode!The Travelers want tons of Stefan and Elena’s blood, so the doppelgangers are skipping town: “You and I and our ex-girlfriend are gonna go on a little skip-it trip,” Damon hilariously tells Stefan in the extended promo. Caroline’s coming, too! (Which is good, because her presence was sorely missed in this week’s episode.)

Caroline’s coming, too! (Which is good, because her presence was sorely missed in this week’s episode.)
Once in a secluded cabin in the woods, things start getting haunt-y. (We’ll give you three guesses which recently dead supernatural will most likely be bugging our heroes on their not-at-all-creepy excursion.) This ghost means business. We get a shot of someone pushing Elena’s head under the water — and while she’s trying to take a relaxing bath, geez!
More likely: she’s trying to get away from all of her sexual tension with Damon. “I’m supposed to be avoiding you,” Damon tells his ex-girlfriend as she unpacks her bag at the cabin.
“Is that still what you want?” Elena asks.
Meanwhile, Markos seems pretty pissed that the doppelgangers skipped town. We see the Travelers organizing a search while Markos demands: “Find me the doppelgangers!” We have a feeling Doppelgangers and Co. can only stay hidden for so long with a pack of nomadic witches hot on their trail.
