Casting For Travelers With "Earthy Rocker Look"

The Vampire Diaries is about to get an influx of Travelers. A call for extras has been placed with Background Artists Casting, looking for peoples ages 21-38 with an “earthy rocker look.” What does this mean for TVD?

This is decidedly bad news for our fang gang. The Travelers have already proven that they have enough magical ability to overpower vampires when necessary, such as when they took buckets of doppelganger blood from Stefan and Elena or trapped Enzo and Damon inside of a house together. Couple that with the spoiler that the Travelers will soon “make their agenda known” in “a negative way,” and we’re about ready to raise the TVD Big Bad Threat Level to orange.

Executive producer Caroline Dries told TV Guide concerning the Travelers’ imminent rise to power: "What we've been trying to do with The Travelers is keep this undercurrent of danger through the whole season, but not quite explain what they're doing because — shocker! — it will impact all the characters in a negative way," Caroline said. "[Near the end] of this season they'll make their agenda known and their leader will come forth."

But what is a leader without his followers? We know that Markos, a charismatic and imposing leader from a faraway land will be popping up in Season 5, Episode 17, and it sounds like he will soon have quite a few friends. According to E! Online: “He’s super dark, but people can’t help but be drawn to him, and he’s worshipped by his followers.” We think these extras might be a part of this group -- and, potentially, Bonnie’s new witch frenemy Liv? Now if only we could figure out what all of these Travelers are up to…
