"Resident Evil"
Markos and his Traveler brethren continue their supernatural shenanigans while the fang gang desperately tries to figure exactly what they’re up to in Season 5, Episode 18 (“Resident Evil”) of The Vampire Diaries. What else is going down in the next all-new episode? Read on to find out!
Jonesing for another doppelganger mythology fix? The April 17th episode will delve into the truth behind the doppelganger prophecy — aka the idea that the doppelgangers will always be drawn together. In this case, it’s Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) who will be sharing dreams of what their life together might have been like. Awkward! And potentially romantic?
Meanwhile, things are heating up on the Other Side. Bonnie (Kat Graham) gets a visit from Grams, informing her that trouble is brewing in the supernatural purgatory. And Matt (Zach Roerig) will have his own “terrifying encounter” with some of the less grandmotherly inhabitants of the Other Side. This seems to be part of the efforts Matt, Tyler (Michael Trevino), and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) have undertaken to “help track the Travelers and keep them from taking control of Mystic Falls.” Admirable goals!
Less admirable? The fact that Jer is keeping his alliance with Liv a secret from Bonnie. Apparently, the former witch is “hurt and angry” when she finds out. Enzo (Michael Malarkey) is also dealing with his own love drama. After giving Damon (Ian Somerhalder) some “unwanted advice” about his love life, he “admits he is searching for a woman he loved decades before” — aka Maggie, the Augustine Society lab assistant.
So much to look forward to in this episode, which also marks Paul Wesley’s directorial debut! Check out the full synopsis for the April 17 episode:
Both Stefan and Elena are suddenly having unsettling dreams of an alternate version of the life they might have had together. Bonnie has a disturbing encounter with Grams (guest star Jasmine Guy), who warns her about frightening changes on the Other Side. Enzo gives Damon unwanted relationship advice, then admits he is searching for a woman he loved decades before while he was held captive by the Augustines. Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) enlists Matt, Jeremy and Tyler to help track the Travelers and keep them from taking control of Mystic Falls. Bonnie is hurt and angry when she learns that Jeremy is working with Liv behind her back. Luke (guest star Chris Brochu) shows up at the Salvatore house and explains what he knows about Markos (guest star Raffi Barsoumian) and the Travelers to Damon, Elena and Enzo. Matt has a terrifying encounter with inhabitants of the Other Side. Finally, when Damon finds Markos, he is both relieved and disturbed by what Markos has to tell him.
