It looks like former lovebirds and current co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev have completed filming season five of The Vampire Diaries after the former Lost star tweeted the news last night.
The 35-year-old hunk, who plays the sexy vampire Damon Salvatore in the hit show, took to Twitter last night to announce: "End-of-season-5 insanity... Just wrapped. Good night beautiful world- miss you. See you soon".
Last weekend, at a panel chat at PaleyFest, Ian and his beautiful ex teased fans what's in store for the characters in the upcoming episodes. Nina reckons her character on The Vampire Diaries would be better off becoming a lesbian after all the love triangle drama between Elena and with both Salvatore brothers, Damon and Stefan played by Paul Wesley.

With Ian and Executive producer Julie Plec musing the fate of Elena and Damon's love affair, Nina chimed in with: “After all the things these boys have done to her, she’s going to be a lesbian.”
Since fans will remember that in a recent episode Damon and Elena ended up in bed again despite both agreeing that their romance was "toxic". Julie and Ian both agreed that the two need to put an end to their dalliances, with the actor telling the panel:

“When you have grown-up conversations, you have to put your big boy pants and big girl pants on and have the conversation. But they keep taking their pants off, and that’s what gets in the way of the grown up conversations.”
