Nina Dobrev Boyfriend Madness: Forget Ian Somerhalder and Damon on Valentine's Day, Elena Wants to Stay Single but She'll Be Ready to Mingle Soon

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder confirmed their break up at the 2014 People's Choice Awards, but even though the actress may be ready to date again, she's perfectly fine being single.

The 25-year-old recently told German magazine, "I definitely don't need anyone to make me happy. I can do that all by myself."

We are not surprised by this revelation, but Dobrev kind of hinted that she's ready to get back into the dating world if it comes naturally.

In a new interview with Extra TV's Mario Lopez, the 25-year-old "Vampire Diaries" actress talked about being single after dating Somerhalder for years and then breaking up.

When asked if there was anyone special in her life at the moment, Dobrev responded, "Me!"

"I'm not choosing to do anything. I'm just choosing to exist and see what happens," she added.

She said about the type of guy she dates: "Well, that's the whole part of dating. I'm trying to figure it out."

Nian fans were devastated when they found out that their favorite on-screen and off-screen coupleannounced their split in the beginning of May after the couple was dating for three years. The Daily Mail said friends believe it was because of the 10-year age gap between them and that Somerhalder was ready for marriage but Dobrev wasn't.

It looks like we may not see any sweet PDA photos on Instagram or Twitter for Valentine's Day of Elena and Damon.

The 35-year-old heartthrob asked his Twitter and Instagram fans "Will you be my Valentine" while promoting his Ian Somerhalder Foundation t-shirts.

"HESE SHIRTS ROCK! Must order really soon as in, like now if you want them for Valentines Day. If not just order soon.They're so soft and quite awesome I must say.I'd give you mine but I slept in it last night and its now it's covered in kitty hair, and Nietzsche slobber!" Somerhalder captioned the Instagram picture.

Oh well. It looks like Somerhalder and Dobrev are moved on to bigger and better things now. We are glad they stayed friends though!
