As a Villain?

Paul Wesley Nominated For 2014 Teen Choice Award — As a Villain?

Remember when Paul Wesley played a villain on The Vampire Diaries? Well, apparently the teens do and they’re willing to give him an award for his short time as a baddie. It looks like that short stint as Silas — one of Stefan Salvatore’s doppelgangers. What’s this we hear about Paul snagging a 2014 Teen Choice Nomination for Choice TV Villain?
In the second wave of nominations, Paul happened to get some love for playing Stefan’s shadow self, getting nominated alongside Robbie Kay, Jane Lynch, Dylan O’Brien, and Janel Parrish. It’s some tough competition — featuring some of our favorite actors and shows — but we certainly think Paul deserves some credit for switching it up five seasons into the CW thriller.
Let’s recount the ways Silas stirred up drama on Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries. First, he locked Stefan in a safe and threw him to the bottom of the quarry, resulting in Stefan drowning over and over again all summer and suffering from PTSD when he was finally rescued. He snapped Jeremy Gilbert’s neck, leaving Bonnie Bennett no choice but to revive him, thereby sacrificing herself and becoming a ghost for quite a few episodes. Speaking of Bonnie, he killed her father, Rudy Hopkins, right in front of her. Oh, and let’s not forget his original mistake: cheating on Qetsiyah with Amara, resulting in her vengefully casting the doppelganger spell and creating tons and tons of drama.
If all of these evil deeds don’t get Paul the win, we don’t know what will.
