Heather Hemmens Cast as Enzo's New Love Interest
Guess who’s getting a new love interest onThe Vampire Diaries? Our favorite rugby-loving vampire villain,Enzo (Michael Malarkey)! TVD has just cast the part of Maggie, aka the Augustine Society research assistant Enzo fell in love with in the 1950s. Who’s the lucky lady and when will she be making an appearance? Read on to find out!
According to E! Online, Maggie will be played by Heather Hemmens, recently seen on Grey’s Anatomy, but perhaps best known for her role in The CW’s Hellcats. Maggie will be making her first appearance in Season 5, Episode 19 — but it won’t be the first time her character has been mentioned. Viewers may recall Enzo’s romantic musings on the scientist hottie back in Season 5, Episode 9 (“The Cell”). In a flashback, he told cellmate Damon the story of the woman he fell in love with. “She wasn't part of the torture and experiments. For the longest while, she didn't realize Dr. Whitmore was doing more than just observing my behavior. I didn't have the heart to tell her. I was just so glad of the company. When she finally realized what was going on here, she couldn't bear it. So she said she was sorry and she left."
Question is: How is Maggie still alive and youthful, given that she was last seen looking hot in 1953? Unless TVD goes heavy on the aging makeup for Heather Hemmens, Maggie will be suspiciously youthful in her on-screenTVD debut. As far as we can tell, there are two possible explanation: 1) She will be seen in flashbacks or 2) She has become a vampire. We’re kind of hoping for both.
The Vampire Diaries returns Thursday, February 27 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
