Vampire Diaries Burning Question: What Is Luke's Secret Agenda?
Elena and Caroline are about to make a new college chum onSeason 5 of The Vampire Diaries when the “fun and charming” Luke (Chris Brochu) comes to town. But don’t get too excited, this dude has a secret agenda! What might Luke be up to? We speculate below!
He’s a Traveler, sent to keep an eye on the doppelganger
We know from E! Online’s article on the subject that Luke’s presence in our favorite vampire coeds’ lives will have something to do with “the growing tension between the witches and the Travelers.” This implies he’s one one of those sides.
If he’s a Traveler, we’re mighty suspicious of his interest in Elena, aka a Petrova doppelganger. Earlier this season, a whole host of Travelers tapped Elena and Stefan’s veins to up their store of doppelganger blood. Are they running low again, perhaps after letting Dr. Wes use it in his vampire cannibal experiments? Doppelganger blood is a hot commodity these days. We wouldn’t be surprised if Luke was tasked with getting some more from his new friend.
He’s a witch, looking for Bonnie’s help
If Luke isn’t a Traveler, than he’s probably a witch — a group we know decidedly less about now that Bonnie is magicless. She still has her base of knowledge, however, and we think that might come into play moving forward. We already saw her help one wayward witch do a locator spell in the last episode. Will she continue to tutor the college’s witch community? Maybe Luke befriends Caroline and Elena to get closer to their BFF and roommate.
