After Liam Hemsworth was spotted kissing Nina Dobrev on Feb. 7, a source told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that he’s “not looking for anything more thanhooking up with girls.” But phooey on that — Liam needs to lock Nina down while we can, and we have some pretty convincing reasons why.

1. They’re both coming out of long-term relationships

Nina and Ian Somerhalder dated for over a year before their May 2013 breakup, and Liamwas freaking engaged to Miley Cyrus. There are definitely some wounds that still need to heal for Liam and Nina, but their relationship would be more likely to succeed because they both understand where the other is coming from. 2. They’re both used to having a public relationship

Because their previous significant others are just as big as they are, Liam and Nina have already been put through the ringer in terms of being in a relationship and being in the public eye. If they dated, they’d likely be able to navigate through any of the issues, and their relationship may be better off because they’ve learned from their past mistakes.

3. They’ve both sampled the dating pool

After breaking up with Ian, Nina was briefly linked to Derek Hough. And everyone knows (and saw) Liam get it on with Mexican hottie Eiza Gonzalez the day after he and Miley announced their split. The benefits of having sampled the single life is that both Nina and Liam know what’s out there — and they should be able to recognize that they’re both each other’s best, sexiest options.

4. They’re close-by

Proximity is half the battle, right? Well Liam and Nina have that going in their favor, as Nina is camped out in the Atlanta area for The Vampire Diaries, and Liam is in the area filming The Hunger Games.

This is just a fact. Just look at how enamored he was with Eiza. And do you think it’s a coincidence that he and Miley started having problems when she dyed her hair blonde? Nope, we don’t.
